Beautiful antique carte de visite from the period 1850-1914. These photo cards on cardboard were very popular from the mid-19th century until the First World War. The cardboard cards are usually 6.5x10 cm with the albumen photo and the name of the photographer on the front and the photographer's logo on the back. Over the years, these logos were decorated with beautiful Victorian characters and became a kind of advertisement. These carte de visite were given to friends and family and often collected in albums or placed in the bookcase. Photos of the royal family were also collected. Today they are extremely popular for their vintage look and beautiful Victorian back. Because a year was almost never included, it is difficult to find out which year the carte de visite comes from.
